It's multiplayer feature is a revision of Counterstrike. They put the new source engine to replace CS' engine. Now, CS looks much better than the original did. Besides that, yup, no multiplayer feature.

I think the reason to buy it is to marvel at the graphics.

I'm currently trying to DL it from steam and my god it is slow. It started at 85 minutes. Now the status bar is at 50% and it is at 86 minutes. What is up with these servers? Why can't I just get a straight DL, or even a torrent?

you have to pay.. its valve's online distribution service.. they get a bigger profit using it since they don't have to give money to the distributer (VUgames) when they distribute it themsleves. it also is your buddy list, server browser, chat and your launch application for ALL valve games. Unfortunatly you HAVE to use it

Yeah it blows I downloaded Savage off S3's website using a download manager of my choice. That way my download was at a constant 300-400kB/s. And it ended up taking about 5 hours, instead of 2-3 like it should have. Ugh.

As for CS:S it has details, I'll give it that. Anyone that has HL2/CS:S load up the office level and shoot a computer till the side pops off. Then notice all the cards you can shoot out! There is even a removable HSF on the processor.

HL2 is ok I'm loosing interest in the waterskimmer level. The atmosphere is almost perfect. It's what I'd except from a disutopian future, plus its beautiful.

I do feel cheated because the performance is really great, which makes me think that they should have add more flash to it. On my system I get about 70-100 fps on average. This is with 3ghz P4 1gig DDR and radeon 9700p (128 mb).

I'm about done with it I believe. The graphics are amazing, the game play is very balanced and the physics are extremely impressive. The gravity gun is great fun, picking up sharp objects and launching them at people only to watch their body split in half is great fun.

The counterstrike portion is pretty fun I suppose, reminds me alot of Rainbow Six gameplay only quicker.

The most memorable thing for me in Half Life is the refracting light on the ground even when you're in tunnels or a shaded area. The graphics are simply amazing, puts DOOM3 to shame in every which aspect. Hell, it's even scarier than DOOM3.
