As nice as it is to be able to use creative signatures, their use is lagging down our forums. Anyone visiting using dial-up is having severe issues loading the threads.

Sorry folks, but you're going to have to go back to sigs that don't take up so much bandwidth and memory.

What she is referring to are the long and drawn out music file attachments some of us have.

Part of the lag is due to my music attachment. I am removing it now.

The hosting of the images that played music has been discontinued due to the "lagging of the forums" so even if your sig still has the code in it, it will not display the sig.

I am the one that asked that the sigs be looked into.

I am on dial up as most know and it was taking me 2-3 minutes to load a single thread. I was getting pretty frustrated.

Anyway, I hope none of you get mad at me. I wasnt trying to be a pain I was just looking for a way to get around the problem. Hoping for an alternative but I dont think there was one.

Again I am very sorry.

Icey

lol Ice, nothing to be sorry about, 3-4 megs per sig is pretty insane, hence why I took mine off a few minutes after I posted it.

As a suggestion if you guys still want music.....

there are two options:

1) increase the compression on the song. It can be done from within the flash file. Bumping up the compression will make it sound not as nice, but will be a lot smaller in file size. Its not like anyone is using your sig as an mp3 player

2) only use a small clip from the song. This will reduce the file size tremendously. Honestly i dont think i ever listened to more than 10 seconds of any of the songs. You could cut the file down by only including a little bit. Why bother downloading 5 minutes of music when only 10 seconds will be played?

I just stopped using music in my sig because as soon as I started doing it, everyone jumped on the bandwagon. :-?
