T2 Bouncer: Authentication via LAN


Announcing the new Tribes 2 Authentication system developed by the community for the community!

“T2 Bouncer” gives you the ability to retain your original name, GUID and tags without any aditional modification to your existing tribes 2 executable. Actually you don’t have to download anything. Simply goto: http://auth.interhact.net and register on the website. You do not need to use your desired warrior name as your user name on the http://auth.interhact.net website; however, it's recommended that your password should be strong! Once your registered on the website, then go to the Warrior Requests page and add to or create a thread using the instructions contained in the first thread located here: http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewforum.php?f=18

Copy and paste the example form below and create a new post or reply replacing your information:

Username: my forum username
Warrior Name: My desired Tribes 2 Warrior Name
GUID: 11111 (optional)


Once registered and you've received notification that you have access to the system, simply join a server in-game. Once connected, if you joined a server using the T2 Bouncer serverside file; use global chat and type:

/auth UserName MyPassCode

again that's...

/auth space UserName space MyPassCode

T2 Bouncer is available in clientside http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16 and serverside http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=15 vl2 formats.

The clientside vl2 http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16 file will allow you to store your credentials and pass them to another server while connecting and automatically log and authenticate you.

The serverside vl2 http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=15 file is to give server providers the ability to control access to their servers and that their admins can enforce the rules set by the server providers. This control is vital to any server provider(s) and was lost due to deactivation of the original authentication system. T2 Bouncer ensures that banned players remained banned and that timed kicks are enforced for the limit set by the server provider.

Any player once registered at http://auth.interhact.net can play on any server especially those using the server vl2 file. If a player has any problems a list of FAQ’s are being developed to alleviate those problems. Also the admins on the website will assist. If a registered player has been banned and desires to have that ban removed, a thread located at http://auth.interhact.net/f/viewforum.php?f=19 has been created to assist you.
