Hey everybody,

Well I've been wanting to host a server for a very long time but I can't figure out how to do it. I've tried the Advertise on Gamespy box. I've tried the Webadmin on port (though I don't understand that) and I've tried the dedicated server thing and many combinations of those 3 boxs however my server just won't show up on the list...Perhaps its somthing to do with the ports? Maybe theres something wrong with my comp cuz some people can just check the advertise on gamespy box and they are done. I dunno, could someone help me out?

If you're using a router, then I dunno how to make it work, although if someone explains how I will personally give them a cookie as I'm on a router and have the exact problem trumpet is having.

Did you guys remove the firewall on the game? I did that and people could join my server but thing is i think it only works if people see it on gamespy.

Three questions:

1. Do you run on a router?

2. When u mean disable the firewall on the game...do u mean disable the computer firewall or is there a firewall for the game separatly?

3. If you do disable this firewall, and you run on a router, will that make it visible on gamespy?

Sorry I'm Technologically challenged when it comes to all this internet stuff.

1. Do you run on a router?
This is used for two or more computers to connect to the same internet source. I have a router that connects to this comp and my comp and my laptop. So the question is do you have more than one computer on your internet source (Comcast, DSL)??

There isnt a firewall in the game you would have to disable it outside of the game.

3. If you do disable this firewall, and you run on a router, will that make it visible on gamespy?
as long as you have your server up and showing on the master list it should be on gamespy but idk anything about gamespy.



If you ARE on a router you are going to have to open up your port to make the server run on your ip and not your local ip which will screw it all up. Once you open your port and host your server everythign should be fine as long as your firewall is off of it. SO basically if your on a router open a port (if you need help just say your on a router and waht kind you have). Disable your firewall and host your server! hope this helps!

I remember one time i tried opening ports listed in... I think it was the TV readme... and it still didn't work... (i dont play TV anymore so it doesnt matter) and yea i had my firewall up but i opened the ports and TV on that too... blah
