I made it here, safe and sound. I think I was awake for something like 30 hours, and I'm dawg tired, but the trip went without a hitch.

I just had lunch with some of the people who work for Symantec through Infosys. Two of the gals had been to Springfield for a month, so I already knew them. They took some of us shopping after lunch and I picked up my first souveniers. Lunch was good, but at one point my lips felt on fire.

It reminds me of Singapore here, in many ways. The traffifc is something I don't ever want to negotiate on my own. Lines on the pavement mean nothing and everyone honks, which I think is supposed to protect them from an accident. Everyone is honking.

The people are extremely friendly and anxious to share their country with me. They have a long list of "to dos" for me and it sounds like I'm going to get to see a lot of India outside of the city.

The weather was good today and I didn't suffer from the heat or humidity. That is what I was most worried about.

I brought my headset, so if I have time I may get on TeamSpeak to see if any of y'all are there playing.

I'll write more later.

Enjoy it Lady. Too few Americans travel like this and experience other cultures and lands.

Be safe! :)

Why hunt moose anyway? We're just big, slow, dumb, and make for easy kills...oops.

India wouldn't have been my choice to visit, but neither was Singapore and I loved it there. Until you get there, you just don't know what you are missing. This is going to be a huge life time experience for me. I'm so honored to be here, even though I may lose my job because of it. Such a dilemna. I think by the time I leave here, I will be so grateful for the experience, I won't care about losing my job.

Is your trip part of your job?
Or are you traveling on your own?

will you keep some form of a training position? or any position for that matter? If not then that truly sucks and outsourcing is starting to get ludicrous. I feel if the product is sold in the US it should be supported in the US.

Awesome LadyD. Be sure to take tons of photos so we can see all the fascinating places you got to visit, and all the cool experiences too!

They have extended my stay to the 19th of Nov. The trainer has to stay a little longer to get trained herself. While I've been away they have done some training for one of the teams I support here at home. I'll be here learning the new process when that trainer gets here to train India. That will be the shoe on the other foot.

I am having such a good time. I'm not sure what I'll be doing this weekend. Two of my co-workers have been invited to take a 6 hour bus ride to a little hamlet, but I've not been invited to go with them. That is OK by me as I'm not cherishing the thought of such a long bus ride. It will also allow me to stay here in town and do some serious exploring.

I will for sure take lots of pictures. So far I'm traveling in the dark, as I'm working graveyard. It is truly messing with my head.

Yes, it is very different driving into a mall parking lot and having them scan the car for bombs. It does make one sit up and take notice.

We are only traveling in hotel vehicles and the drivers will even go shopping with us and wait for us until we are ready to leave. They are very concerned to not have guests harmed on their watch. This weekend some of the team are being taken by bus (6 hr ride) to see some sites. Me, I'm headed to Mysor, which has the Infosys training campus, which I understand is amazing. There is also a temple and other sites to see there. I'm really looking forward to that. I may even ride an elephant. I know, get pics.
