Indecent exposure is the polite phrase for it. They're facing up to, I think, a $27,500 fine for it, however, if CBS(?) gets fined, then it'll be in the millions (the fine applies to every CBS station that aired it). MTV won't be hosting anymore half-time shows for quite a while now...

lol, i was watching it in a room with 2 of my friends.... one was sitting at the computer and missed it.. my other friend and I were laughing hysterically. However, we assured him that it would be on the internet within 5 minutes... and sure enough, tribalwar.com delivered. TIVO to the rescue, lol

I'm not a prude, but it was innappropiate for all the young viewers to see on network television. It also plays into the old sexual assault theme too, if any kids in school rip open a girls blouse I can see a defense attorney's strategy forming already.

If the stunt was pulled during the MTV awards it would've been accepted better  !

They claim it wasnt intentional but it looked pretty intentional to me, considering he ripped it off, you can tell he used quite a bit of strength for it :P

The outfit was made to break away. I'm sure you've seen the zoom photo of her jewelry by now. If you take a moment to avert your gaze, you'll note the snaps all around the area of fabric that was removed...

THe way it was supposed to work, I've found out, is that when Timberlake says that one line (whatever it was), he rips off part of her dress, but there was supposed to be something behind that to cover it. So in actuality, a "uniform malfunction" did occur, but because too much material was removed instead of the last minute, planned, surprised movement.

I'm wagering on the fact that Janet told Justin her bra was supposed to cover it, then removed part of her bra before the show and didn't tell him. People backstage said the justin was freaking out about it after the show, saying it went to far.

Besides, it would be the perfect way to jumpstart her career for the new album she's releasing.
