Birds made a nest behind the shutter of my bedroom window.

Every morning these stupid birds wake me up at sunrise
they are not nice songbirds, but stupid ugly squawking birds

I keep trying to remove their nest before they decide to lay eggs (I wouldn't hurt their eggs if there were any) but everyday when I am at work, they build it back up again

It is hard for me to get behind the shutter (it is just a fake shutter that doesn't actually close and open) so I can never get everything clean behind it

Anyone know a good way to get them out of there without hurting them?
I am going crazy here and starting to suffer from sleep deprivation

You're preaching to the choire, birds are nesting in my house's chimney, meaning their calls echo . My guess would be to make them stop rebuilding, remove the nest and make sure to make the area smell like some sort of other animal or something, like bring a dog or a cat nearby and smear their fur all over the shutter, and maybe close up the opening they're lodging the nest in.

the window is like 2 feet from my head when I am asleep and the birds start squawking like someone kicked them in the bird-crotch as soon as the sun comes up

many innocent lives will be lost if this continues

you may not like my reply, but i hunt and fish and if a bird keeps moving in on my house I take care of them personally. It may sound cruel but by real moral value it is not. It is your house and if an animal invades your privacy then you have the right to rid it.

Imagine if this were a cocroach or something. Do you move the nest nicely or do you get rid of them for good?

your choice, but thats what I was taught and thats what I do.

We had a bat problem a couple times and to get rid of the risk of them biting or inhabiting a lot of our house we rid of them the old fashioned way.

I have images of grabbing a cat and rubbing it all over the wall with fur and claws all sticking out every which way and how pissed the cat would be when the procedure is over...

I meant like hair that had fell off... and I wasn't thinking of claws 2/3 of our cats are declawed and the clawed one won't let us pick him up... you're right I don't recommend trying that with a cat ><

If I had a dog or cat, I am sure they would not be too pleased about being dangled out of a second story window like Micheal Jackson's baby so that I could rub their fur on the shutter

If they rebuild that nest today, I am going to make it my weekend missions to get rid of them.

My latest plan is to sit very still on my front lawn with a beer in one hand, and a hose in the other.....bring it on birdies

fill the hole they are useing .aluminun foil,spray foam or anything they cant dig out

Crack an ammonia inhalent and chuck it into the hole 3 times a day. Then fill the hole with spray expanding foam.
