Some may remember the old MAD comicbooks spy vs spy toons. Well this one isn't funny! If you use torrents, beware... I'm not sure the latest ruling was unprecidented but it's disturbing.

What makes this whole thing stupid is that it will only force the average individual downloading music to become smarter about covering their tracks. What I mean is, prior to gaming I knew very little about interacting with the net. I could troubleshoot PC's but I knew nothing about voice com, net meeting, packet loss, hosting images, and finally server administration, applications, and maintenance. I can thank FPS gaming for my new wealth of knowledge that has surpassed many IT techs at my job... just from gaming!

Now these new moves will will move the average downloader to become aware of the next step in anonimity... proxy servers. Thanks to MPAA and RIA, I'm pretty sure the some web ignorant terrorists will now figure out how to add another "veil" over their activities. Or posibbly some disgruntled unhappy teens will now have another way to hide their activities from Parents and authorities when composing hit lists and blog entries.

Thank You RIAA and MPAA!

Yeah, I read about this on The Register... According to them, Torrentspy has said they will hold out as long as possible. One thing I think may slow courts down is that I'm pretty sure Torrentspy is based overseas, not in the US. And even still, what's to stop them from starting up a different site? Just take a look at Pirate Bay - they've been shut down at least once, and they came back

But really, considering the amount of torrent sites available, that's probably just a drop in the bucket.

True, but how many people have ever used proxy servers, not many, but now they will learn, and the info is being past around. How long before the criminal element that wasn't web savvy learn to use proxies... about as fast as they download some music or movie!
