I think gigsworld needs a new rotation. Since most of the maps in the gigsworld map pack are updated and included in the vengeancemaps map pack. I think they should be taken out of rotation.

My current wish list for maps is as follows:
  • Acheron(vm)
  • Blood Veldt (vm)
  • Canyon Crusade (vm)
  • Cavern (vm)
  • Circuit (vm)
  • Dangerous Crossing (vm)
  • Emerald (vm)
  • Feigned Beliefs (vm)
  • Fort (vm)
  • Highlands (vm)
  • Junk (vm)
  • Minotaur (vm)
  • Raindance (vm)
  • Temerity (vm)
  • Tropics (vm)
  • Tundra (vm)
  • Winterlake (vm)
I personally like a couple more but They still have bugs that can mess up gameplay. They are as follows:
  • Condemnation = Invisible repair pack
  • Dash = There is a section of the map where the player will vanish into thin air
  • Desert of Doom = There is a map hole
The ones that I haven't listed, though I do like them, seem to be pub killers. So I would recommend adding them to the rotation. Anyway please people give your feedback.

On the ground in front of where the emergency station is supposed to be, it says 'Repair' in yellow. So you just walk into the center of the box and press the use key.

Bump, we're losing a server full of people on the Gigsworld map pack maps. Not sure if the more popular map packs are OK or not.

The most popular T:V server is Cobra's plain server, no extra maps or anything.

Hey guys,

I wasn't even aware you had a map pack until i came here, maybe you should post in the TW & tribesvengeance.com forums. I certainly appreciate the few servers that do rotate alternate maps & i know others do as well. The defaults get old. Just my .02 cents.

Cheers

Eros

Once we get the rotation together I'll make a post about it.

Some of the VM maps are buggy. Close to 1/3 are buggy as my original post shows.

I think that if we run the originals with the NEW COMMUNITY maps from the VM pack we can get a good mix.
  • Acheron(vm)
  • Blood Veldt (vm)
  • Canyon Crusade (vm)
  • Cavern
  • Circuit (vm)
  • Dangerous Crossing (vm)
  • Emerald
  • Feigned Beliefs (vm)
  • Fort
  • Highlands
  • Junk
  • Minotaur (vm)
  • Raindance (vm)
  • Temerity (vm)
  • Tropics
  • Tundra (vm)
  • Winterlake
For the spawn descrepencies we can use the spawn mutator, set it to whatever we want.

I think that most people that play T:V aren't typical tribes players, and never bother downloading map packs. I seriously think that you guys oughta remove most of the maps, and have only a couple of the really popular maps, and then when your server becomes more popular, add a few more.

Forcing players to hunt for the maps, or somehow find the GW map pack, is most likely too much work for any typical player (I wouldn't bother myself).

I think we should change to the VM maps only - and list the server as Gigsworld VM Maps or something so people know about it. We would get lots of people if we could advertise what map pack to download. People are eager to play the other maps I think.

I say keep the retail maps, and add 5 or so functioning VM maps.

I currently vote for the following VM maps.

Blood Veldt-vm
Dangerous crossing-vm
Feigned Beliefs-vm
Raindance-vm
Temerity-vm

These five I think are the most stable and balanced maps. What I mean by balanced is that they don't favor offense or defense. They are level playing fields. Plus they are very fun maps.
