His execution is the fuel extremists needed for a rallying point. A life sentence would have prevented what the extremists will make him... a martyr.

They wanted to kill him before the start of a holy time so that he would not become a martyr. I say it's good that despite glaring opposition they did what's right and ended this man. He died in 1/10th of a seccond, many people he killed with lethal gas didn't have it that easy. This man allowed his son to rape and kill brides on their wedding day, it's terrifying to think what these sick people were capable of.

Well they screwed that up, they executed him on the day the holy event started and were caught on video chanting the name of a rival Shite leader... this mess gets better and better.
