A kind soul has taken pity on me and purchased a file planet account for me. So, after half an hour of downloading, the game installer freezes up on the second screen, and I have to shut it down from the task manager.

Any ideas?

Apparently I'm not alone. Lots of folks posting this problem, no one offering solutions. And NO, it's not a corrupt download, unless all of fileplanet's servers have corrupted files....

Not impressed so far, but not the install thing, the lack of support is what unimpresses me.....

When I was at the East coast lan thingie, I had the same problem. I was most unpleased having to wait all that time for the download and all and it became frozen just after trying to install it. (insert curses here)

I had a bad .. um i think it was dat or pak file.
its most likely not the same issue but. it has issues.
I hope you get it fixed.

That didn't work either, all 6 times I tried. No other applications are running. Download from different server doing the exact same thing.

Grrrrrrrrrr.....

Forced it down my poor computer's throat in safe mode, finally.

Upon double clicking the icon to start, I get not one, but two error messages!

Woo Hoo!

Just keep in mind that all your problems can be summed up in one word -

BETA

And hopefully they'll have these problems fixed before actual release.

what are the error messages? it probably has to do with the fact it was installed under safe mode :?

How long was the freeze? Maybe it was still loading? And what OS if 2000/XP are you the admin?

You guys make fun of the helpless girl act all you want. It got me a loaned system that doubles any stat my computer can offer...

Imagine the generosity of a friend that loans you a whole computer with a P4 2.9ghz, 512ram, and I forget which high powered Geforce, but whatever, it runs T:V like a dream, and it's mine all mine, until they want it back.

Comes complete in a tower with LED internal lighting, and a carrying handle on top! And a hub, and a network cable, all cause I flashed my sad puppy look!

I'm just sad the grapling gun only has 15 shots, I've had a blast swinging around cavern like tarzan on a rope.....

I think it's the same problem Olga had. I run the installer, and it reads it, but when it tries to extract the files needed, it says its corrupt...any solutions?
