The complaints about the security in windows usually gets blown out of proportion because of the amount of people who use windows. It's also been considered cool on the internet to hate Microsoft for the longest time. I believe it's partly because of how successful they are as a business, because they do have quite a few decent products on the market. Don't get me wrong here, I think Vista is a huge waste of time and I will never own it, but I would rather own it than own a Mac of some kind.
