Anyone have any idea what the percentage for unemployment is roughly? I know there are mitigating circumstances that raise and lower the benefit amount, and I'm pretty sure it differs for each state, but a ballpark estimate would go a long way in helping me out.

Thanks.

Are we talking benefit dollars? Or what the national average of unemployed individuals are? In Oregon, I received a weekly payout at 66% of my earnings when I was employed. I was entitled to 6 months of benefit. Now my percentage, I'm sure, was also determined by the fact that I'd worked for my employer 16.5 years and had paid into the system for so long without ever having made a claim. How that was factored in, I have no idea.

Oregon's unemployment rate was 7.1% in November.

Did I come close to answering your question?

Yes lady your comprehension skills are much higher than Mr. Mach! =P

Anyway I was checking out the unemployment website for illinois and all they had available was a table that lead me to believe that the rate for BENEFITS PAID was about 10%. I was under the assumption that the rate was closer to 2/3 or 1/2 so you have eased some of my concern. Anyway thanks.
