Squeegie, Gig is very sick and rarely at his computer. I will forward to him that you've PM'd him, but allow for some time for him to reply.

I did most of the server stuff when RD was with Branzone, but its like I posted in your other note! Branzone setup the install, admin mod, start/stop/reset access, and everything like that. All I had to do was tailor the prefs file, upload additional map packs, and upload DT files.

I have never had to setup a blank server. It cannot be that hard, but I'm sure it requires some type of "install" from a T2 source.

Rocky, Icedog, and Archer currently maintain the RD T2 server if you want to catch up with them and ask any questions. I know the same applies there though - the setup and install was done for us, leaving only maps and prefs files for ongoing maintenance.

a server install is no different than a normal client install... just change the prefs file so it is set up as a dedicated server

Kraska - how would you install it remotely? Doing a "client install" for most of us means sticking the CD in the drive and loading it up...not as easy if the server is not in your house, town, or state!

im pretty sure the dedicated server file doenst require a registry entry so you just do a clean install on your comp and upload the whole tribes 2 folder thats what i did with the nLa server and it worked.

Just like you would if you were running it on your own machine if it's a windows server. If it's a linux server you can do it with a command line I believe.

You can't execute anything on a remote machine from an FTP protocol. You have to connect with the standard remote desktop program windows offers or another program.
