Ive been hearing a little buzz about this one, and decided to give it a look.

Based on the trailer, and the description of the game, it seems very BF2 and even BF2142---ish. However, its built on what they call a vastly improved Quake 3 engine.... hmmm. Ive never played Q3, anyone have any insight?

It's due to released in June I believe, and I think it may be worth a serious look. HA.... one thing it has going for it is that EA has nothing to do with it!

Let me know what you guys think!

I have been following ET:QW and i have to say I did not like Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory and if its anything like that then i def would not have any fun with this game.

I think EA/Dice has handled 2142 far better than Bf2 for the minority of people who have problems with 2142 its far smaller then bf2, beyond that I have sooo much fun playing 2142, the kind of fun i have when i play Tribes 2.

I quit WoW, and other games so i can play bf2142 and tribes 2 much more than I did.

In short i am not really interested in ET:QW, you can take the crappiest game in the world and put the best parts of it in a collage/trailer and make it look awesome, but then when you get it your like well why isn't it as fun as they made it look in the trailer. So until the demo is out I really wouldn't suggest forming opinions from reviews in magazines, and trailers, I feel that a magazine like PC Gamer, and so on are making so much money off of ADs for these games, that they are too scared to give any game a negative review.

Huxley runs on the unreal 3 engine, that's about all the interest I have in it. I've heard bad things about the actual gameplay.

Correction, it uses the Doom 3/Quake 4 engine.

I'm actually going to give it a whirl. I was a Quake player before I was a Tribes player. I even have a Quake 3 Arena disc around here somewhere. Since gaming is subjective to so many different interpretations, likes/dislikes, the only way to find out it to play it yourself. I plan on doing just that.

The more I read and see of this game, the more I like it. 40 + vehicles, deployables, goal oriented teamplay.... ie, you have to build a bridge or destroy a reactor to continue forward with the assault on the enemy.

Flying infantry?!?! I hope they are not restricted to the Strogg side only!

Lady's gonna play!!!!!!

Should be very interesting!

Deployables is my deal. If I can't have jetpacks, I want deployables. My copy has been ordered.

I read a interview today detailing the ranking system within this game. Apparently it keeps a "persistant" rank on individuals based on their overall performance in game, however there are no permanent unlocks!

In other words, the unlocks you get only last one campaign(3 maps), and are then re-set!(similar to field unlocks in BF) While I admit this probably brings more balance to the gameplay, I am disappointed at some level. Being used to the unlock system in BF2 and 2142 has probably spoiled me!
