I remember playing along-side Gigawa in Tribes 2 before, and it is a terrible shame to hear this news of his passing.

All of [sCs] would like to wish his family the best and let you know you are in our Thoughts & Prayers.

Sorry for your loss Lady.

I'm sorry for your loss lady. I'm pretty new here and I never met the man, so I can only judge by the legacy I have seen, this great clan. May he rest in peace.

I humbly suggest that Gig's World have its server name changed to a online memorial. Something to the tune of "Gig's World: In memory of Gig"

First, thank you to Cyn for pointing me here. With a heavy heart, I offer you my condolences LD. Gigawa was a great man, and the world is a lesser place without him. I got very choked up reading about how much Gig contributed to so many people's lives, and I know I could write volumes about everything he did for myself and the rest of RD when I was around. For those that this deeply affects please have strength and God bless you.

RD loves you Gig.

Thank you yuseke for pointing me here.

Been a while since i've checked the forums... now that I come, something truely bad has happened. Lady, I am extremely sorry for your loss. I may not have known Gig very well, but I know that he was a great person, just by the way people respected him. It is with a sad heart that I read this. I miss the RD gang, and Gig will be dearly missed.

Thank you everyone. Each time I sat down to read this thread I'd walk away in tears. Not from the sadness of losing Gig, though that is ever present, but from all the love and gratitude expressed here. It is heartwarming to know that all the years of hard work, dedication and consistency, has created something that means so much to so many. Gigawa and I have been truly blessed to have stumbled into this gaming community that has loved us and is now helping me heal.

I remember when Icedog's family wondered what kind of people would send him a computer. Afterall, he'd never met any of us. Those on the outside just can't fathom how we can forge such strong friendships and relationships online. Well, I'm so happy that I understand it and have reaped the benefits from it. I bow to you all, with humble gratitude for all you have given Gigawa and myself. Your heartfelt words and apparent grief, though painful, also touch me in a deeper way than some of our real life friends.

I believe it takes more to be seen and felt in cyberworld than in real life. And if Gig could touch you and have a positive impact on your world, then he was projecting loud and clear over miles of cyber cable. Many of you got a clearer read on the type of person he was than some of his family and friends. We all knew him. His family and friends knew him, but sometimes got distracted by Gig's coarser side. From the posts of those who knew him, he seemed to come across here clearer and without distortion. I'm not sure if that makes sense to everyone and I apologize if it doesn't. It has been a rough couple of days.

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU". I appreciate your kinds words, support and caring spirits. I have read each post more than once. I am comforted by the out-pouring of love and sympathy and will never forget it. I draw strength from you and I appreciate all the tribes and community's support. I am truly blessed.

Hello all, good to see you all again even if under the unfortunate circumstances. I have been trying for days to figure out what to type and I think I have something worthy now.
I want to tell you what I saw while I was there at the last days. I watched Lady make sure there was always someone around him even when he was sleeping. I watched his daughters take care of him in such a loving fashing I had to keep from crying at the time. Gig apprecaited everything that everybody did for him with a smile. Gig was aware he was dying and had accepted the fact well. He was a trooper and did his best to be in a good mood even when he was uncomfortable. He had a smile on most of the time. He concidered himself lucky to be surrounded by friends and loved ones at the last hours. He repeatedly stated how he was doing so well with all the loved ones he was surrounded with. He made sure everyone knew where he stood and there were no hard feelings about anything from the past or the present. When I get to the same position I hope I can be half as good at dealing with it as he was.
I guess what I want you all to know is that he truely did die happy, he had no regrets. He was ready to go even though he was unwilling.
Lady as you know I am nothing short of a phone call away. I am waiting to be able to help, as you know, helping you helps me. Feel free to call anytime.

Alright, so after mulling over what has happened here, and feeling a tad depressed at my own situation, I decided to try and write a little poem, reflecting (sort of) the feeling that everyone has towards the passing of Gigawa (this also spurs from my having recently lost a close friend in my hometown). I hope that I could do Gigawa justice with this song/poem.

Title: In Memory of a Saint

There's always been that tight-knit bond
One taken by your death
There's always been that special one
Who's taken from our arms
There's always been a nice close friend
That knew that it was coming
But they never seemed to hint us on
For fear that we'd be saddened

There the ones who meant so much to me
The ones who've passed away
Our bond will live forever
And ever just the same
And when I close my eyes right now
I see that smile on your face
That lovely smile on your face
That smile on your face

Down to the very wire
You enjoyed it all so well
Made me feel right at home with you
When you knew it was going down
You saved my mind of all that pain
Which is a reason for my thanks
And
I know that you are listening
When I say you are a saint

You're the one who meant so much to me
The one whos passed away
Our bond will live forever
And ever just the same
And as I close my eyes right now
I see that smile on your face
That lovely smile on your face
That smile on your face

Lady,

It's been a terribly long time. Kraska sent word to me just moments ago, and I'm deeply saddened. I wanted to send my condolences. I regret not coming to visit very often, even just to say hello. I don't really have to words to convey the loss I feel.

Gigawa will be sorely missed.

Sincerely,

TechFiend
