I know DUNNA will kill me for even asking this, but here it goes!

I tried uploading the map pack from the website for T:V a while back and it made it so I can't even launch T:V anymore. Wasn't a big deal then, but I've now ordered my second graphics card to go to SLI mode and want to test the difference between current and new set-up. To this end, I would like to see how it impacts frames/second on T:V, so I need some help from someone in getting T:V back up and running with all the required map packs, files (degrappler? Sounds like a French wrestler to me), etc., so I can play on Gigsworld pre-upgrade and post. Can someone outline what I need to do? I'm going to do complete re-install of T:V tomorrow, so I can at least launch the darn thing, so start at that point. Thanks in advance, for all who provide help to little ole me.

By the way, when I do connect, you can pretty much ignore me...I can barely pick a spawn point much less hit somebody with any weapon! Maybe I'll just stand there and drop mortars at my feet for fun!

Hey I'll try my best to get home before practice to help you out. I am hoping someone who is not at work will be willing to help you before hand. Be on TS2 before practice and many will offer to help you.

I've heard that SLI is very picky and unforgiving. Read reports of completely identicle vid cards not working at all. Also heard about it working today but not tomorrow. Think I'd prefer something more stable like Crossfire. But then if you have a SLI mobo that would require a replacement of that.

Thanks for the help everybody (Tweaked, Sniper, Grims, Kazuma)! I actually played for about an hour last night and I don't think I hit one person with any weapon! I did cap once, but it was shear luck as someone ripped up their base pretty good and they were busy repairing, not watching the flag. Also had an unbelievable escort (Nice Shot was his/her name, I believe). By the way, I max'ed out everything in video and audio and it looked and sounded fantastic! That 3-D audio is kinda freaky.....kept wanting to look behind me, but realized it was my footsteps echoing off the hill behind me.

By the way, I know there are voice bind updates to T2 style, where can I get them? Everybody was trying to talk to me and I had no clue how to respond. Probably seemed anti-social....at least I didn't have RD tags on at the time!

Rockey, do you ever bear good tidings? Seems like you or someone you know has had issues with every possible computer model, upgrade, download, color scheme or wallpaper!

As far as the upgrade, I've been careful to use only Asus approved components and I've seen posts in forums where my exact set-up has worked flawlessly. Got my fingers crossed!

Card is due today via UPS, so I'll probably miss it as I'll be at work. So tomorrow is D-day for the upgrade!

Actually I think is a great idea to support the other team, that's what a tribe is for. I may re-install Vengence myself, but if my wife see's one more game disc, she'll have a fit! :lol:

Well. when you read it in Toms Hardware it can be nice to let people know about possible problems.

I also like to razz Gig on the Intel vs AMD thing.

As far as ASUS goes, they are my preferred mobo manufacturer at the moment. And for reasons I won't go into here because I'll be accused of bearing bad tidings again, I prefer ATI over Nvidia.

AMD... sounds like a mental disorder, and their PC's act like they have one too! Almost every AMD owner I've met has had to upgrade their cooling systems and usually have psu issues (except for a hacker named Rockey :lol: )! :krak

I've had the same stock Pentium 4 2.8gig processor for around 3 - 3 and a half years and I still to this day have not had a problem EVEN with a partially bent pin. All stock cooling parts.

Dear DUNNA;

I'm STILL running the stock CPU fan that came with my AMD processor. Never a cooling problem.

I do, however, have 5 case fans.

My stock AMD 2500 is 24 months old this month, using the OEM fan from the retail kit and a single case fan on the side.... :P
