This monitor is better than mine and about $80 less than what i paid for mine. the 172x is better than my middle one(172s).
the 172x has a 40 degree larger horisontal viewing angle, half the response time (12 ms as oppose to 25 ms), almost double the contrast ratio (500:1 vs 350:1), Digital input AND VGA input.

That being said, i LOVE my monitors, and have had zero problems with them. I would highly reccomend any samsung monitor. If i didn't already have 3, i would definitly pick this one up
