Just wanted to let people know that while I have been playing regularly this week, next week will be different.

I am away on business in WY until Wed. and then I am moving into a new place directly after I get back. Hopefully I will have internet service set up by Friday.

I'll let you all know when I am back up and running

Ok.... I am back

There is officially nothing in WY.

I moved into my new place and got my stuff all set up.
Got a new highspeed internet service provider.

Loaded up T:V today and..... servers that I used to ping 50 to, I now ping 500

this is ridiculous, it is impossible to play like that

I did a speed test and found that I am getting 5876 kbps d/l and 84 kbps u/l

I assume it is the upload speed that is killing me
anyone had this problem before?

I am not a happy camper

I have been on the phone to Comcast

I don't think there is much I can do about my broadband speeds at this point

I may be able to play at non-peak hours

I find it ridiculous that they can offer advertised speeds of 6mb/768kb but cannot maintain speeds of above 5mb/100kb

I will continue to monitor the situation
This makes me so angry because it basically eliminates the possibility of me playing T:V and any level of competency

sorry that I cannot be around at this point in time

That's interesting. I also have Comcast and usually have no problem. May just be something in your service area.

Choda I hope I'm not too late in posting this. Bro you should seriously talk to them again and ask them why your upload is so poor and the down so on the mark? I bet if they tweak their line a little and filter more BW into your stream and adjust the packets you'll may find better game play and a balnced line. Some of the T2 guys are able to give you a specific technical version where I can not but I am certain it may be of some help to you in getting your connection fixed.

I would get in contact with a couple other high speed providers and ask them if they have the same problems from past customers in the neighbourhood.

I have gone through the same issues with my cable provider a few years back and asked for a dsl test run for a week which I would pay for regardless if I took the service or not. I had instant stabilty in my connection and ran it for a few years with a few service interuptions resulting in wall climbing and free running, movies out, family night extras. Ya blah blah sorry I am just comfy online talking away here.

So I informed my cable provider after a month that I had enough of their service and told them I was not paying for the last 5 months previous as I refused to pay until they were able to provide service expectation they were billing me for each month and that I was also cancelling the cable to the TV. Ha Ha they would call every so often afterward asking how my current provider was yadda yadda better tv... thanks but no thanks click.

After we moved to our new home, I got cable back in free cable and a cheap but very fast and realiable connection, a little choppy on BW at times but its a lot better on service and realiablity over dsl up here.

So in short talk to some of the other providers in the area such as dsl, sat services twinning data feeds, even an isdn line test, next request that your current provider send over a tech and cable man if they are willing then they really value their customers. If they are the only provider then request someone to come over and perform a line test and bill adequately for the service such as a few freeby movies or channel access. If that turns out to be the better with expectations they will improve their service to you at which time you will pay adequately.
