On Vengeance maps Calder is offer redirect services for free. What this means is that you can host custom maps and have them redirect to his server. Now players that join <=RD=>Gigsworld that don't have the map that would be in rotation can grap it a fast rate from Vengeance maps with out leaving the game!


To make it work, you edit your server .ini's to:

[IpDrv.TcpNetDriver]
AllowDownloads=False
;DownloadManagers=Engine.ChannelDownload

[IpDrv.HTTPDownload]
RedirectToURL=http://www.vengeancemaps.com/
ProxyServerHost=
ProxyServerPort=3128
UseCompression=True

Now if the player doesn't have the map no problem. I'm not sure that address is right. Someone ask JMO.

I'm for this if they fix the redirect screen. As it stands now it appears as if you game is hanging when it is actually downloading on redirect.

I personally think that only final maps should be run on gigsworld. Striker convinced me. So that would really limit our options. The good news is that Ice Ridge, Katabatic, Damnation (maybe), Beggars Run, Minotaur, Stone Henge, and Dangerous Crossing should all be available by the first of the year, if not sooner. Almost all of those should be to scale, which makes T:V feel more like T1/2c.
