yeah, the user interface is lacking... the game browser is very very laggy too.

I had that same problem about a key being duplicated, but it was an axis on my joystick for me. Try clicking the "set to default" button. that cleared it up for me

You can delete assigned keys by clicking on them and hitting escape, that blanks them out.

After playing about 3 hours here are my thoughts. It's a lot different than Tribes. In BF2 you have to stay out of sight and be stealthy, pick your shots. Pure mouse skill is much less important than in tribes. BF2 is much more strategic than T:V in my opinion, maybe about the same as T2.

I have a lot of fun when playing with RD people, it's a fun to work out the tactics and then go carry them out. If you could get, say, 10 RD on one team, then you could really have an impact on the game. If you could do 16v16 battles between 2 organized teams I think it would be really fun.

I'm starting to like BF2 as well. It is taking a LOT of learning / ajustment on my part, especially the 15 second spawn delay after a death. It is like the T2 10 second spawn delay if you control-K (suicide), except it is assessed at EVERY death!

My updated thought list:

-Artillary still bites. It is absolutely devastating, and the reload/recharge time between artillary strikes should be increased! It's power is abused IMO. Special forces experts that C4 the enemy artillary are my heros!
-As Mach said - STEALTH is the key. Use the terrain, building, and structures religiously for cover, or be killed.
-Spawning with your squad leader rocks! Especially sweet when he/she is in a tank, APC, or even a helicopter or jet!
-In game VoIP has been hit and miss. Seems to work on some servers and not others. Still relying on TS for now.
-The squad feature in general is really cool. Working with the squad to have different supporting loadouts is sweet - medic for healing, support for ammo, and engineer for vehicle/bridge repairs!

I do have some new questions, that I will post in the members section. In any event, it is really cool to be in a squad full of <=RD=> players!

Cool model...it looks 'real'! Is it? Or is that a graphic?

You mentioned a joystick. Do you use it just for flying, or for other things in BF2 too?

its not a 'real' model, its a 3d model i made with 3d studio max... although it is based off of a real model i have infront of me. I havent textured it yet though... http://www.jkraska.com/temp/GundamWIP05.jpg http://www.jkraska.com/temp/GundamWIP04.jpg are some other renderings of it before i finished the head

Nah, i just use the joystick for the planes and helicopters, although you could use em for other vehicles too... i gotta bind a push to talk button on my joystick though... i keep killing myself trying to talk to you guys with b/ctrl
