You implied it. Regardless of what you may think, your dislike for me doesn't automaticly make me the worst person in the world. So please, if you have to continue to try to give yourself reasons to justify said feelings towards me, do it in the form of a PM or email.
For those on the forum and the record Cyn, I have no ill will at all toward you - no dislike what so ever. Your contributions to RD and this forum are welcomed. You are a great T2 player and a valuable resource to many of us.

I like to engage in such life topics to spur individual thinking, reflection, and growth...nothing more & nothing less, provided it does not take the forum in an unhealthy direction (yes, I recognize suah a decision is very subjective).

Maybe more on this topic in emails or PMs.

What a manly way to go! That man died with his boots on, that's for sure.

In the end though he always knew he'd die in the ocean.

RIP Irwin

Like him or no - he was a father, a husband, and he put an exicting focus on nature that few people have been able to do. Anyone that is "happy" about this news should be ashamed...

Wasnt saying that I wanted him to die or anything of the sort: Just know some that would ;) . I personally have a lot of respect for him, he was a great animal conservationist who loved the wilderness, and i loved to watch his show when i was younger. I hope he rests in peace.

RIP Steve Irwin.

Just read in the news that his father says he doesn't want a large, stately funeral. My guess: his parents wants to keep a private affair as much as they could.

Yeah, I saw that too. I don't blame his family one bit, especially since the media has turned this into a circus, even the respected news shows are jumping on the bandwagon to get a piece of the video of him dying.

What a bunch of vultures!

Well, the video will be released. Steve made it clear many times before his death that he wanted his death caught on tape and for the tape to be released to the public.

In honor of his wishes his family will be releasing the tape. So releasing the tape is actually good news. :D

don't want a state funeral cuz his dad said "he was just a regular old bloke... no need for a big ordeal." I'm sure the two of them had discussed that previously. That's really a great statement of humility.

All I can say is that if you don't think he's done great things for man and animalkind then your eyes are shut and you missed out on a wonderful human being.

He was pretty vocal about wanting the video to be shown in such a circumstance, tho he may have been saying it more to lend to his image than anything else. Either way, if the family is cool with it, I guess I am too. As far as the funeral... thats totally up to them as well IMO.

Good point Graywolf!

It's just that from my view point its a paradox; a catch 22... the media, especially comedy shows will have a field day with the video. I'm thankful I'm not directly related to the man, for as you said, they are his family.

It's tough enough trying to fulfill a loved ones last wishes and complete unfinished business while grieving. This must be especially difficult for his family. They will have to deal with having the video smack them in the face everytime they turn on the TV and while surfing net for a long time. I don't want to be in their shoes at all.
